the idea behind the breed
Appaloosas are defined by their colorful spotted coats which they have become famous for. They are an extremely versatile breed that can be found in nearly every discipline; including, but not limited to, racing, working cattle, jumping, dressage, and just simply serving as a reliable family horse. While most Appaloosas carry the unique coat patterning, solid-colored horses are also blood-typed here at the RAA to verify parentage so that they can be included into the registration, too!
Please note: The RAA is not a valid association for horses in real life. It is strictly for a simulation game called Riata. To learn more about Riata, click on the link in the navigation bar at the top right-hand corner of the page.
